Best time to enter
- Try to catch the first cableway up — fewer people, better light, shorter queues;
- Arrive early in peak season and on holidays to save a lot of waiting;
- Allow at least half a day to a full day and go at a relaxed pace.
What to bring
- ID card (for real-name tickets and checks) and original discount documents;
- Non-slip sports shoes and a jacket (the summit is windy and cool);
- Rain gear, sun protection, a power bank, some cash, water and snacks.
Pitfalls to avoid
- Book online with real-name registration — don’t trust “cheap tickets” or “fast-track” touts at the gate;
- Check whether the ticket includes the cableway or the through-mountain escalator, and pick the type that fits your itinerary;
- Bring enough battery and memory for cameras — supplies on the summit are pricey.
For children and seniors
- The cableway, cliff walks and 999 stairs demand stamina — use the rides where possible;
- Those who fear heights or have limited mobility can take accessible routes; bring a wheelchair/stroller if needed;
- Watch children and seniors the whole time and keep clear of railings and cliff edges.
