Zhangjiajie Moves Toward a High-Speed Rail Era - Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park

With a series of major transport projects moving into the construction plan, Zhangjiajie is edging closer to a high-speed rail era. The Guizhou–Zhangjiajie–Changde high-speed line, the Zhangjiajie–Sangzhi expressway and other works have been listed as key local projects, while lines such as the Zhangjiajie–Jishou–Huaihua route are also being pushed forward, together forming a rail network centred on the city.

Better transport will draw this peak-forest destination closer to neighbouring provinces. Industry observers expect a clear rise in weekend breaks and multi-province trips once the lines open, giving a fresh boost to Zhangjiajie's tourism economy.
