Buying tickets wisely
Huangguoshu has admission and shuttle tickets, while the night tour, rafting and the escalator are separate. Students, children and seniors may enjoy reductions under the relevant policies; confirm your type before you go, bring your ID original and enter within your booked slot.
Saving on transport
- For groups or families, a chartered car or driving is often cheaper than repeated taxis and easier for linking nearby spots;
- By public transport, head first to Anshun or Zhenning, then take a coach or tourist shuttle;
- Inside, the shuttle saves the most effort, and the great-fall area has a large escalator to spare you a climb.
Saving effort on the route
- One day: focus on the three core areas, using a far-then-near or reverse route to cut backtracking;
- Two to three days: spread Longgong, the bridge and Tunpu sensibly, avoiding long runs in a single day;
- Lodging: staying by the area saves time, while the town and city are friendlier on the wallet — weigh both.
More peace of mind
- Book tickets and Water Curtain Cave slots ahead to skip queues and last-minute changes;
- Bring your own water, snacks and rain gear to avoid high prices inside;
- Note the various discounts and combined-ticket options — do your homework before you go.
