Anshun, where Huangguoshu lies, is home to the Bouyei and other ethnic groups. The sixth day of the sixth lunar month is a major Bouyei festival: people dress up, sing and dance, and visit friends, filling the countryside with life — a window into ethnic culture.
During the festival some villages also hold craft demonstrations and country markets. If your trip coincides, join in while respecting local customs; when visiting villages, do not disturb daily life and ask before photographing people.
