Transport and parking

Huangguoshu has several car parks around the ticket centre, some with free shuttle transfers; at Longgong, parking and transfer are mainly at the visitor centre. Drivers should park as directed, then take a shuttle or minibus into the area.

Shuttles and getting around

The three core areas lie several to ten kilometres apart, and walking between them takes long. Shuttles run between the ticket centre, main entrances and the sights — saving much energy. Without a shuttle, the loop takes markedly longer, so assess your energy carefully.

Luggage and guides

  • Luggage: left-luggage service is available at the visitor centres at the entrances to the great fall, Doupotang and Tianxingqiao, and at the Longgong visitor centre;
  • Guides: hire a guide at the ticket centre or visitor centre to hear the stories behind the fall and the karst;
  • Accessibility: visitor centres keep wheelchairs, walking sticks and baby strollers for loan, helping elders, children and those with limited mobility.

Other conveniences

  • Rest points are set along the routes for a pause and water;
  • First-aid points and kits are provided — ask staff nearby if unwell;
  • In extreme weather the area provides rain gear; arrangements follow on-site practice.

FAQ

Yes. Hire a guide at the Huangguoshu ticket centre or the Longgong visitor centre to hear the stories behind the falls, the karst and local culture. Those short on time or keen on geology and culture may find a guide worthwhile.
Is there luggage storage at Huangguoshu?
Yes. Left-luggage is available at the visitor centres at the entrances to the great fall, Doupotang and Tianxingqiao, and at the Longgong visitor centre, so you can tour light. Locations and fees follow on-site signage.
What conveniences are there for visitors with special needs?
Visitor centres keep wheelchairs, walking sticks and strollers for loan, and shuttle stops have wheelchair boarding aids for ticketing and boarding. Elders, children and those with limited mobility should travel with family and assess their health carefully.
Can I cover Huangguoshu, Tianxingqiao and Doupotang in one day?
Yes, with good planning. A time-saving order is usually Doupotang → Tianxingqiao → the main fall; the main fall is the highlight, so give it ample time. For a deeper Tianxingqiao visit or to add the night tour and nearby spots, allow two days for a calmer experience.
