How the two walks differ
- Glass Skywalk (Panlong Cliff): transparent glass underfoot, suspended over cliffs a thousand meters high — the strongest visual thrill;
- Guigu Cliff Walk: a walkway built along the cliff face, rock wall on one side and a drop on the other, longer and even more of a test of nerve.
Do I need shoe covers?
The glass skywalk usually requires the shoe covers provided by the park (a small cover fee may apply at times) to protect the glass and prevent slipping; follow on-site guidance. Leave high heels and hard soles aside.
If you fear heights
- Keep to the inner side, hold the handrail and look ahead — don’t stare down;
- Slow down and pause on non-glass sections to adjust;
- If you can’t step on the glass, take the ordinary walkway beside it — the views are just as good.
Photo tips
- Use a wide lens to capture the drop and distant peaks; place a person to one side for drama;
- Frame your companion’s feet “standing” on the glass edge — fun and striking;
- Stop and steady before shooting; never block the walkway.
Safety reminders
- In strong wind, rain, snow or ice the walkway may close temporarily — follow the park’s notice;
- Do not sit on or climb over the railings;
- Look after children and seniors with you.
