Why two days
The area is large and scattered; the three core areas lie from several to ten kilometres apart, and the walking loop takes a long time. In peak season, queues and slow-moving crowds are unavoidable, and a rushed single day is tiring and unsatisfying. Two days make for a far calmer pace.
Day one: the three core areas
- Morning: start with Doupotang and its broad “roaring fall”;
- Noon: lunch in the area or near the ticket centre;
- Afternoon: a deep visit to Tianxingqiao (life-counting steps, water stone forest, Silver-chain Falling Pool);
- Evening: finish at the main fall, visiting the Water Curtain Cave as conditions allow.
Day two: around the area
- Option 1: Longgong, with a boat into the cave and concentrated karst scenery;
- Option 2: Tianlong Tunpu or the old town of Anshun, for tunpu culture and street life;
- Option 3: Balinghe Bridge and Dishuitan waterfall, for views, study and falls.
Stay and travel tips
- Stay: many choices near the area or in Anshun city — stay near your focus to save time;
- Travel: use the shuttle between areas; if driving, mind parking and shuttle transfers;
- Tip: tickets and shuttle tickets are used within their validity — plan well for a smoother trip.
