In Anshun, grazing from shop to shop has a vivid name — “guojie diao,” eating from one end of the street to the other. The small shops and stalls look plain yet often have run for a decade or more, cheap and authentic.
Bingjiang is a cooling summer sweet blending fruit and milk; duoduofen uses rice tofu as its base, sour and spicy — a most representative Anshun snack; mala gansi, cold rice tofu and tofu balls are common street flavours too. Between visits to Huangguoshu, leave a little time to wander Anshun’s lanes and taste the city’s everyday flavour.
